Our first tutorial

Our first tutorial

Today, I'm sharing the first blog post for Dani Doodles and what better way to start the blog than with the new release!

This card was made using 'Dog Puns'.

  1. First, I cut down some super smooth 300gsm to just smaller than an a6 card base.
  2. I stamped my image from my stash using a black pigment ink pad and heat embossed with black embossing powder. I didn't photograph this step).
  3. I used this cute bone stencil from my stash and inked through some Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide. I didn't mask off my image. I simply laid the stencil over the top and avoided the image with the blending tool.
  4. Next, I coloured by image using my Copic markers in E25, E55, E49, E57 and E59.
  5. I added some White highlight to my image using my white Gelly Roll pen.
  6. Then, I added colour to the edges of my card panel using  Gathered Twigs Distress Oxide.
  7. I mounted my panel onto a piece of black card approximately 3 mm larger around each edge and stuck these down to a side fold white a6 card blank.
  8. Finally, I added a sentiment by stamping the sentiment from 'Dog puns' onto some black card using a Versamark Ink Pad. Then, adding and heat setting white embossing powder.

This makes the card complete.
